5th blog entry.

So I'm driving back from the 'day after' clean-up from  the Cure event. As we were putting boxes of banners and leftover balls in the back of Marcia's suv, and  I realized that of all the racquetball events I'm involved in running, the Racquet for the Cure is the most rewarding one, by far.   I've been involved since the first one, as a player, a volunteer and then a committee chair for the past five years. This year we raised our 10K  for the Komen Denver office which bring our 10 year total to 50K, and not to mention  this original Cure event jump started the national movement of events run by other committed directors, which collectively raised $150K total.  I think I am gonna keep offering ""Cure Clincs."  But ...right now, I am gonna go take a nap.

This is my 4th blog entry.

A good friend asked me last week how everything was going, I paused and  told her I'd let her know by the end of the week. She laughed.

Its been 16 days since I've competed, Nov 1st in Toyko. I havent trained since then either. I told myself that to really refresh and recover, I would wait until I felt like getting bacl at it.  I been going through some personal stuff lately, but the last few days, aside from having a cold, I can see myself back on the court.

This is my 3rd blog entry.

Whew! Its been a whirlwind trip the first part of this season. I've competed in 5 tounaments  over 8 weeks in the USA, Mexico, Japan, and Canada  Its been very busy, and yet very dissappointing. Somehow I'm still ranked #10 on the Tour but it  has little satisfaction.  I'm feeling like I don't have much mental energy when competing. I just visited my niece and newphew in New Orleans. And that was a good break. My first non-racquetball travel in 4 years.

I'm planning to visit my sports psychology consultant during the 4 weeks I have without travel.  There is one more Pro Stop this year in Arlington, VA in December.  Then a 4 week break then another Stop in SC.  I am going tp take a few more days 'off' and create a plan to approach the VA Stop. I want the ending of 08 to be a good begining for the second half of the season.

This is my second Blog entry.

Just returned back from Bolivia on Tuesday AM after 30 hours of flying. What a trip. I met some current Jr World Champions. Some of the kids show great discipine on the court. I will be working with a few of them in a the coming months. These two events were a good test for my injury. The prehab and ART seems to have allowed it heal. Im about %95. The scar tissue seems to be shrinking, and it doesnt hurt when I wake up anymore.  That's good news.   Oh, my plan is to start training for the WPRO Season Aug1st. I'l be coaching for a few days at the US Jr Team Camp in Colorado Springs, CO next week. Our season opener is in NC Sept 10-13. Thats only  6 weeks away, so I feel like I didnt get much of a mental break this summer, but Im happy about my strokes.  (I'll have to build in some longer breaks during this season. )I've been working on the controlling the decelleration in the loading phase of my stroke. It is helping my explosiveness especially in front court short strokes. I can get more turn on the ball. Also, the new Command is the most powerful frame I've ever hit with. Seriously, I bet Ive added 15mph on my speed.    OK, I'll try to make these entrys more regular.

This is first sentence of my blog.

I haven't really decided why I'm blogging. I figure after I do it for a while, maybe I'll see what the fuss is about.  So I've been 'off' since  May 31st. since a dissapointing finish at Nationals. I've been feeling uneasy for the 9-10 days right after Nationals not having anythong to train for, not having an upcoming trip or tournament.  What do people do on weekends? Laundry, mow the lawn? Its an odd feeling not going anywhere for a month. My next trip in CA for the WOR, then Bolivia to teach some and play a tournament. So Monday I'll meet with my  sports psyc counselor to make a plan about how to really enjoy the time off, and when to start back up with physicl and mental training.  I've been re-habbing a hip injury, PT 3 xs a week. It looks like the PT and rest will allow for complete recovery. Thats good news.
So what do you think so far? Is this blogging?
